When we put together our rooms—like the Copper Room, the Brass Room, and our Stonewood Family Retreat—we wanted to stay true to our roots. Our cottages are built with thick native stone and local wood, just like the traditional homes in these valleys have been built for centuries.

It isn’t just about looking rustic and charming (though they absolutely do!). Those thick stone walls do something wonderful: they keep you incredibly warm and cozy when the winter snow falls, and wonderfully cool during the summer afternoons.

Let’s be honest, the main reason you come to Mukteshwar is for the views. Because our homestay is tucked away near Bhatelia, away from the bustling tourist markets, we get some of the clearest, most unobstructed views of the Himalayas you’ll find anywhere.

There’s no better feeling than waking up, staying wrapped in a thick blanket, and stepping out onto your private balcony with a hot cup of ginger chai. Watching the morning sun hit the snow-capped peaks of Nanda Devi and Trishul is a moment you just can’t get in a standard resort room.

Food That Tastes Like Home

We believe that mountains and good food go hand-in-hand. You won’t find any massive, impersonal buffet lines here. Instead, our kitchen operates just like a family kitchen.

We take so much pride in serving fresh, pure vegetarian meals made from organic, locally sourced ingredients. If you haven’t tried a comforting bowl of Bhatt ki Churkani (a local black bean delicacy) or freshly made Madua ki Roti on a chilly evening, you’re in for a treat. It’s food that warms you from the inside out.

We know how heartbreaking it is to plan a family vacation and realize you have to leave your dog behind because of strict hotel policies. We’re pet lovers ourselves, so making Stone Heritage a pet-friendly homestay was a no-brainer for us.

We have plenty of open garden space where your dogs can run, roll in the grass, and enjoy the crisp mountain air safely. They deserve a holiday just as much as you do!
